Welcome to the Blog

I believe most people, like me, are looking for natural solutions for their health care needs, from a trusted company.

About 5 years ago as I faced my own chronic health issues, I for the first time in my life could really be in my patient’s shoes. Saying that it was challenging is an understatement.  It was confusing, and overwhelming.

Being a pharmacist, I knew all my pharmaceutical treatment options.  These options had side effects I was not happy with and I knew I could not use them long term.  Not inspired with the current conventional therapies, my desire to heal naturally took over and then I began my journey to apply natural options to help my body heal.  What I researched, learned, understood, and applied for myself, inspired me to share.  I wanted to extend this wealth of natural healing knowledge to the community, so I launched Trulaa Health.

Trulaa Health is my Ikigai! Ikigai is a Japanese concept referring to having a direction or purpose in life, providing a sense of fulfillment to a person, and towards which they take actions, giving them satisfaction and a sense of meaning. Trulaa Health has given me a platform to create joyously and make a positive impact in the health and well being of not only myself, but also my family, friends and community.  I know I’m living my Ikigai when I hear positive feedback from my clients and I feel gratitude in having been able to help them.

One disclaimer: I’m not against prescription medications. As a pharmacist, I know the major benefits of various medications when we are in a crisis for our health. They can help stabilize our condition.  Once we are out of the crisis and stabilizing it’s the perfect time to utilize natural healing concepts. There are many ailments that our body knows how to heal with just a little help from a holistic solution. There is no reason why there cannot be a balance between prescription medications and natural healing methods under an integrative practitioner’s care.

At Trulaa Health I aspire to be “True to Nature”. I have worked to create a trust worthy company, following my passion for natural healing solutions. Preventative health is my career passion; finding gems within plant-based premium ingredients, to get the most complete and effective formulas to the community, is what brings me joy.

Thank you for letting me be part of your better health journey!

Opioid Overdose Crisis

Every day, over hundreds of people in the United States are afflicted with overdosing on opioids. The misuse of and addiction to opioids— including prescription pain relievers is a serious national crisis that affects public health as well as social and economic welfare. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that the total "economic burden" of prescription opioid misuse alone in the United States is $78.5 billion a year, including the costs of healthcare, lost productivity, addiction treatment, and criminal justice involvement.

"In 2017, more than 47,000 Americans died as a direct result of an opioid overdose."

How Did This Happen?

Initially the medical community were assured that patients would not become addicted to prescription opioid pain relievers, and healthcare providers began to prescribe them at greater rates. This subsequently led to widespread diversion and misuse of these medications before it became clear that these medications could indeed be highly addictive. Opioid overdose rates began to increase. In 2017, more than 47,000 Americans died as a direct result of an opioid overdose, including prescription opioids, heroin, and illicitly manufactured fentanyl.

What are we doing about it?

In response to the opioid crisis, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is focusing its efforts on five major priorities:

  1. improving access to treatment and recovery services

  2. promoting use of overdose-reversing drugs

  3. strengthening our understanding of the epidemic through better public health surveillance

  4. providing support for cutting-edge research on pain and addiction

  5. advancing better practices for pain management

At present, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are the major pharmacologic therapies used for the relief of inflammation and pain in patients with symptoms that cannot be attributed to a specific disease or spinal abnormality. NSAIDs examples include naproxen, ibuprofen, and Advil. In a recently published, comprehensive worldwide meta-analysis of randomized trials, the vascular and upper gastrointestinal risks of traditional NSAIDs and Coxibs were compared. All NSAID regimens doubled the risk of heart failure and increased the risk of upper gastrointestinal complications. In addition to the cardiovascular and gastrointestinal risks they present, traditional NSAIDs and Coxibs offer only limited benefits for the treatment pain.

"All NSAID regimens doubled the risk of heart failure."

Holistic Pain Management

Pain of any origin if it persists can greatly affect the patients' quality of life. Therefore, advancing our understanding of the holistic approaches will benefit patients in the long run in improving their quality of life. The use of medicinal plants in the management of pain is as old as man himself.

At Trulaa Health, I have brought attention to the later point in “Advancing Better Practices for Pain Management” - through drug-free, botanicals and oil infused formulas. And our ROHANA PAIN RELIEF™ is just that, a drug free, plant-based formula!

"It Started In my Kitchen as I was Nursing My Own Elbow & Knee Injuries."

This formula has been a labor of love for me. Many years ago, it started in my kitchen as I was nursing my own elbow and knee injuries; it became clear to me that a long-term holistic approach will be a better option for me. As a pharmacist, I couldn’t ignore all that I knew about the pain management options available to me through pharmaceuticals and I wasn’t ready to fall prey to that. Many of my healthcare colleagues had similar issues at that time and that just set me off to find better drug-free options.

There were a select few company’s and many home remedy’s that I was able to find initially, but they all seemed to be lacking key ingredients and dose was unclear. My goal became very clear to me – Make a complete balanced formula!

I formulated many varieties of pain relief formulas and tested on myself, family, and friends… I'm so thankful for the support system that was given to me. We were united in finding drug-free alternative ways for a holistic pain management system.

Meanwhile, I continued my research and continued chiropractic adjustments which were helpful to me at the time. Acupuncture has good research supporting for a holistic approach to pain management as well. Not to mention continued Yoga brought flexibility and my holistic routine was taking shape.

Finally, I perfected the formula for ROHANA PAIN RELIEF™ and last year alone we were able to sell over 500 bottles, most of which were repeat purchases.

That was a moment of celebration! There are segments of the community truly seeking alternative, drug-free, plant-based, holistic ways of healing themselves. And my goal is to bring that to the community. My personal mission is to find ways to share with more and more people who are struggling with pain about the concept of holistic pain management.

"88% of users reported feedback of mild to moderate pain relief on contact within 15 minutes."

ROHANA PAIN RELIEF™ blend is a life changing formula. In a recent survey, 88% of users reported feedback of mild to moderate pain relief on contact within 15 mins which lasted for 6 to 12 hours, for resistant aches and pains in the neck, back, shoulder, elbow, wrist, knees, and ankles. This is significant!

I heard from clients who were using the oil blend in between their narcotic prescriptions to lessen their load of narcotics being used for their chronic pain. I also heard from clients who reported improvement in swelling and redness post injury. So many Arthritis cases showed positive benefits from regularly using ROHANA PAIN RELIEF™ oil blend.

What Goes into Each Bottle?

People have used botanical, essential oils, herbs, and alternative therapies as natural pain relievers for hundreds of years. Here, I've compiled some details on the top most effective ingredients used in this formula. In addition to using organics, I never include any artificial preservatives in my formulas, ever.

Hemp

What is hemp?

Hemp is a specific variety of C. sativa. Basically, hemp plants generally contain more CBD, and cannabis plants contain more tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), a compound that causes the ‘high’ that people associate with cannabis use.

"We only use verified Organic CBD and broad spectrum Hemp extract to get the most benefits with zero THC."

Full Spectrum CBD

CBD, or cannabidiol, is non-intoxicating and one of the more than 540 phytochemicals found in the Cannabis sativa (C. sativa) plant. Full spectrum refers to the unmodified hemp extract, which contains the compounds present in the same ratios that naturally occur in hemp. Unlike isolated CBD, full spectrum hemp oil contains an array of beneficial cannabinoids and other phytonutrients such as essential fatty acids, flavonoids, terpenes and essential vitamins and minerals. This combination of cannabinoids in our products offer users all the naturally occurring compounds in tandem. This effect is thought to be the result of multi-pathway activation and signaling from various nutrients in CBD oil. We only use verified Organic CBD and broad spectrum Hemp extract to get the most benefits with zero THC.

Organic Turmeric Root Oil

  1. Curcumin—An Ayurvedic remedy known to tame arthritis pain, curcumin is a compound found in the curry spice turmeric. In an animal-based study published in 2007, scientists discovered that curcumin could overpower proinflammatory proteins called cytokines. The compound may also help decrease pain associated with autoimmune disorders and tendonitis. This herbal news is a great reason to eat a little curry! Red Coconut Curry is one of my favorites.

  2. Curcuma, the active ingredient in the spice turmeric, has pain-relieving qualities.

  3. A small-scale 2014 study found that curcuma extract is as effective as ibuprofen for pain management in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis when a person takes it for 4 weeks.

  4. Turmeric is also a common herbal remedy for reducing inflammation. To include turmeric in its natural form in the diet, try adding it to curries, smoothies, or juices.

Ginger Root

  1. Ginger—Sipping ginger tea not only helps relieve cold-related congestion but supplementing with ginger may deliver other long-lasting health effects. Research indicates that ginger may calm arthritis pain by lowering your prostaglandin levels. One 2005 study even suggests that ginger could reduce pain and inflammation more effectively than non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (such as aspirin). Ginger is available in most grocery produce sections, and ginger tea is quick and easy to make. Slice a thumb-sized bulb of fresh ginger, add to 4 cups of water, and boil for 5 minutes. Strain, add honey, lemon or your choice to taste.

  2. A 2015 systematic review found that ingesting 2 grams of ginger per day modestly reduced muscle pain from resistance exercise and running when people took it for at least 5 days.

  3. The researchers also suggest that ginger may accelerate recovery and reduce inflammation related to exercise.

  4. Try including ginger in the diet by adding raw ginger to smoothies or teas. People can also use ginger supplements, which are available in health stores and online. However, the natural, fresh ingredient may be more healthful.

  5. Always talk to a doctor before taking any new supplement. Dietary supplements can have side effects and may interact with existing medication.

Clove

People have traditionally used cloves, from the Eugenia caryophyllata plant, as a home remedy to relieve pain from toothache. A 2006 study found clove gel to be as effective as benzocaine gel, which is a topical gel that dentists often use to reduce needle pain. The researchers applied clove, benzocaine gel, or a placebo to the inside of the participants’ mouths. They reported lower levels of pain with both clove and benzocaine gels, but not with placebos. More research is needed to see how effectively cloves could relieve other sorts of pain. Researchers also believe that clove can have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antifungal, and antiviral activity.

Wintergreen

Wintergreen Essential Oil is derived from the leaves of the Wintergreen herb. “Methyl Salicylate” is often used interchangeably with “Wintergreen Oil,” as this is the main constituent and the main benefit of the oil. As such, products containing wintergreen oil are often used as an anti-inflammatory and topical pain reliever.

Used medicinally, Wintergreen Essential Oil is reputed to increase circulation, enhance and promote the body’s detoxification, calm inflammation and ease pain. Used in massages, Wintergreen Essential Oil revitalizes exhausted and tender muscles, helps decrease spasms, promotes easier breathing, and soothes headaches as well as pain and discomfort experienced in the lower back, nerves and joints. For a warming and soothing experience, add Wintergreen oil to your post-workout massage. This will aid in renewing both mind and body.

After a long day, take some time to relax, and pamper and enjoy the soothing sensations of Wintergreen essential oil. The Wintergreen oil will help to soothe the body, and its aroma will have a positive and uplifting effect on the mind

wintergreen oil has been suggested as a potential alternative treatment for easing lower back pain.

Copaiba

Copaiba balsam is a sap-like substance that's collected from the trunk of trees that belong to the genus Copaifera. The trees grow in tropical areas in South America. Copaifera reticulate is the most abundant species in the Brazilian Amazon. Indigenous people have long processed the copaiba balsam to make copaiba oil, which is used topically and aromatically. Copaiba has been used with rheumatoid arthritis and as an anti-inflammatory.

How Does Copaiba Work?

It's thought that copaiba essential oil is made of a high percentage of beta-caryophyllene. Beta-caryophyllene is highly regarded for its direct influence within the endocannabinoid system and its direct interaction with CB2 receptors. CB2 receptors are key components of the human endocannabinoid system, a biological network that helps regulate physiological and cognitive processes. CB2 receptors are found in the immune system and the central nervous system. They can impact mood and pain among others.
